That headline’s a just a little shoutout to a former roommate of mine who has the unfortunate luck to be a Kansas City Royals fan. But he lucked out last Friday, when I got to witness an epic shelling of Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield at Fenway.

Not pretty.

Baseball, oh how I’ve missed you!

Last night I spent my evening shooting the Red Sox as they completely embarrassed the Angels in a 17-8 rout. Unfortunately, blowouts like that are about as exciting as shooting batting practice. When the outcome of the game is virtually a lock, it’s pretty obvious the players are going through the motions — especially when the game time clocks in around 4.5 hours. Sheesh.

Here’s about as vanilla of a take as you’ll see from a ball game. But them’s the breaks, as always.

Of course, in the grand scheme of important games last night, the Red Sox take the rare spot as bottom of the sports totem pole. Bruins 3, Flyers 2. Of course, by this point in the game, most of the fans were probably at home or the bar across the street watching this on TV.

And here is easily the best moment I got all night — Duff Goldman. The Ace of Cakes! Super nice guy, especially when his producer yelled at me for having the audacity to exist in the background of her “reality show.”
