I spent my Saturday night last weekend photographing an event for the Boston Center for the Arts in the historic Cyclorama building in the South End. It was a fantastic space for an event billed as a night of fine dining with a little bit of spontaneous art thrown in as well. The main performers in the event were local chefs Barbara Lynch and Gordon Hamersley, who were set up in an “Iron Chef”-like kitchen, spotlit in the center of the hall.

Nothing fancy. A select press pool was allowed to photograph the roasting and awards presentation for the Hasty Pudding Theater’s Man of the Year at Harvard University, who just so happened to be Mr. Sexy’s Back, Justin Timberlake.
I was not part of that press pool, but I’m sure the whole thing will be on YouTube soon enough.
This photo is pretty much the only one without him sitting at a table. Them’s the breaks.
And for the record, Justin Timberlake is a weird-lookin’ dude in person.
In case you haven’t heard, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ newest U.S. Senator/Rock Star is Scott Brown, the now-former state senator from Wrentham. The senator-elect put on his final public appearance before heading down to Washington at Christina’s events hall in Foxboro, getting welcomed by his supporters with a rock star welcome.
People were making comparisons of Brown’s following to then-Senator Barack Obama’s rise to national prominence back in 2004. Having covered that campaign, those comparisons aren’t far off… though some might notice a few key differences in their supporters’ demographic…
